PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Red pandas always look ready for a day out in the Snow with their soft thick fur. Their back fur is a chestnut colour just perfect to help them camouflage and also a fabulous colour for a winter coat, and its tummy and legs are black. It's muzzle, nose, chin and the inside of their ears are white and look like it has bared it face in the snow. The rest of it face looks like a adorable chestnut coloured mask. The red panda's tail is like a candle, as it has chestnut and black rings around its tail. The adult red pandas are a staggering 50-63 cm in length! But there tail is 30-50 cm which is 2/3 of their length!
The teeth of a red panda are sharp. Ouch! Their incisors and canines are like the teeth of a carnivore except border and the flattened molars are like the teeth of a herbivore, perfect for the diet of bamboo. The tail is used for balance like the stick tightrope walkers use to help them balance, the tail is also used as a pillow to cover their face so cute. They also have little white fur on the bottom of their feet, they look like little white tuffs, the white fur on the soles of their feet to help them grip trees. |
